Electrically Induced Hydrodynamic Effect in Nematics Caused by Volume Reduction

چکیده

A pressure gradient caused by the local field-induced reduction of effective molecular volume results in a flow nematic liquid crystal (NLC). Here, hydrodynamics homeotropically aligned NLC molecules under influence this was studied theoretically. The equations describing system were written and solved steady-state case using analytical methods, stationary velocity observed found. We discussed obtained compared them with existing experimental results.
